AWWA Lunch Project

Origin
The AWWA Lunch Project a venture of AWWA came into existence in 2005 and the responsibility entrusted to the Coprs of EME in 2008.  This noble cause progressed with twin aims of providing hygienic, well cooked meal at reasonable rate to all ranks and civilians of the three services posted at the Integrated Headquarters and to give a sense of purpose and enhance the self-esteem of VEER NARIS and families of ex-servicemen.

Organisation
The project runs under patronage of President, AWWA.  The responsibility to run this project has been given to Dte Gen of EME.  Mrs Harpreet Gill, Chairperson AWWA Lunch Project, is the inspiring force behind this project.  Team of ladies comprising VEER NARIS and families of ex-servicemen complete the organisation.

Focus Areas
Hygiene, cleanliness, home-like taste and affordability are the focus area.  Special emphasis is laid on the quality of items used in cooking, to include RO filtered water, ISI marked ingredients, rations and oil.

Achievements
AWWA lunch project is self sustaining as it is able to prepare and sell average 200 lunches daily at very reasonable price. It has created a niche for itself over a period of time by providing lunch to the officers, JCOs and other ranks posted at Army HQ or those on temporary duty with clockwork precision.
